Good enough for a short stay
The room was a decent size and warmed up nicely which was a plus. There were good shops nearby to grab extra snacks since breakfast was just a brown paper bag with a croissant and a banana.
It wasn’t exactly cheap but still acceptable for the value provided.

The food scene around Balmore Guest House is a treasure trove! We had an epic night at Badabing Live Music Bar & Steakhouse, where the steaks are absolutely stunning. Plus, the room we had was solid with comfy beds and plenty of space to unpack our bags.
One downside was the lack of decent towels—only one small hand towel between us three.

i had a wonderful stay at balmore guest house! my double room ensuite was surprisingly spacious with three beds to choose from, which was a nice touch. the location is ideal, just a short walk to bars and restaurants, making it easy to explore the area under the castle. public transport was right outside, too, which made getting around super convenient.

Charming decor and an exquisite breakfast
The ambiance of the guesthouse was incredibly charming, with elegantly designed rooms that created a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was a highlight, offering a fantastic variety of freshly cooked options that set a delightful tone for the day. The location was perfect, close to numerous attractions, making it easy to explore the city. I would prefer more clarity on parking availability and perhaps an adjustment to the early check-out time.

We enjoyed exploring the old town, which was super close—like only a 10-minute walk! Our room was comfortable and had great beds. The staff was generous with tea and coffee supplies.
My kids wished there was a bit more flexibility with check-out time for families.

Had a great time with friends exploring the Royal Mile and visiting Arthur's Seat! The location was fantastic, just a short walk to so many attractions. The bedding was clean, and we appreciated the friendly staff who helped with our luggage. Just keep in mind that breakfast options are basic and you need to order the day before. Still, we had fun!
One downside was the bathroom. the shower kept draining slowly, which was annoying. It felt like we had to be careful not to flood our room, which detracted from the overall experience.

The rooms lacked proper cleanliness !!! The bathroom fixtures were loose, and the shower area felt cramped, making for an uncomfortable experience. Improvements on room arrangements would elevate the stay immensely!!!

The stay was decent but had its ups and downs. The location was great, with easy access to the city center, which made exploring attractions convenient. However, the cleaning service was lacking. there was dust under the bed and hair on the floor. Despite that, the memory foam mattress provided a comfortable night's sleep. Overall, it was a basic stay that met our needs but could definitely use some improvements.
